President:  Matthew Danner is a charter member of YHPAA, and is also a member of NSHMBA.  He currently works at Samsung Austin Semiconductor in the Procurement Department.  Previous to Samsung, Matthew worked at Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor for 8 years, holding multiple positions in both Procurement and Change Management.  Outside of work, Matthew is a volunteer reading coach with Partners in Education and is active in the Austin running scene. Immediate Past President:  Javier Valdez is originally from El Paso, TX. He has been living in Austin since 2000.  He is the Lead of Database Operations at ERCOT, Inc. Javier has a long history of community service.  He was the founder of the MAES/SHPE student chapter at the University of Notre Dame.  He is a former  President of the Austin Professional Chapter of Society of Mexican American Engineers & Scientists (MAES) and also sat on the National Board for MAES.   He has also been involved with Un Sabado Gigante,  been a Spanish literacy tutor for Austin Partners in Education (APIE) and most recently is currently serving on the Board of Hispanic Technology Institute of Austin (HTIA) and the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC). It was a pleasure serving on the YHPAA Board the last couple of years. I will continue to be a strong supporter and urge to to get involved and join this great organization!
