YHPAA Volunteering Event with Casa Marianella
Time & Location
About The Event
You are invited to join YHPAA for our first community service event of the year. We will be assisting Casa Marianella, the only homeless shelter in Austin dedicated solely to immigrants. This is the first part of a two-part series where we will hear stories from some adults who have been impacted by Casa Marianella and how they are led on the path towards self-sufficiency and independence as they start their new lives in the United States. The second part will take place later in the year at Posada Esperanza, where will help assist some of the children of the immigrants staying at Casa Marianella.
Casa offers a wide array of services, including:
- Emergency shelter: a bed, a hot shower, laundry, etc.
- Hot meals
- Men’s and Women’s clothing
- Access to computers
- Case Management for everyone who stays at Casa
Join us as we lend a hand to our brothers and sisters in Austin. Attendees are asked to please arrive 15 minutes early, 9:45 a.m., for briefing. Space is limited, to attend please RSVP through Eventbrite. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
