From the President: A Season to Celebrate

As we welcome fall and Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month, we celebrate the culture,

history, and contributions of our community while continuing to create opportunities for

the next generation of leaders.

Dear YHPAA Members, Partners, and Friends,

As we welcome fall and Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month, we celebrate the culture,

history, and contributions of our community while continuing to create opportunities for

the next generation of leaders. Thank you to everyone who joined us at our summer

events and helped make them so memorable! Your energy, support, and commitment to

YHPAA are what make our community so special.

I personally invite you to stay connected with YHPAA and join us at our upcoming

events. First up is An Evening with the City of Austin on Wednesday, September 30,

at Austin City Hall.

Join us for a coffee pop-up featuring Austin’s own Buen Provecho Coffee Company

starting at 6:00 p.m., followed by an engaging panel discussion with City of Austin

leaders. It’s a great opportunity to connect, gain valuable insights, and learn more about

career and leadership opportunities in local government.

Come early, grab a cup of coffee, network, and stay for the conversation! We hope to

see you there!

We also hope you’ll join us for YHPAA’s Annual Scholarship Gala on November 5,

2026, themed “El Ritmo Que Nos Une”! This year is extra special as we celebrate 20

years of YHPAA and the incredible impact we’ve made together.

Our Board of Directors and team are thrilled to make this year’s gala a truly memorable

celebration of YHPAA’s 20th anniversary! I warmly invite all our members, past board

members, and partners to join us as we celebrate our culture, our community, and two

decades of empowering the next generation through scholarships and leadership

opportunities.

Bring your friends, colleagues, and your dancing shoes. We have a lot to celebrate! It’s
