Spring was full of opportunities to connect, learn, and grow with YHPAA! From networking and professional development to inspiring conversations with community leaders, here's a look back at some of the events our members enjoyed.
April Social and Professional Headshots

We kicked off the spring season the best way we know how, by bringing our YHPAA community together! Members gathered at Cuba 512 for an evening of networking, meaningful conversations, and plenty of new connections. Attendees also had the opportunity to refresh their professional brand with complimentary headshots, leaving with both new relationships and a polished new photo.
¡Mil gracias! Thank you to everyone who came out and made the evening so much fun. A special thank you to Cuba 512 for welcoming our YHPAA familia and providing such a great space to connect. We loved seeing so many familiar and new faces, and we can't wait to do it again soon!
Latinas in Leadership:A Conversation with Trailblazers
YHPAA had the honor of participating in the Latinas in Leadership event, hosted by Con Mi MADRE. This panel brought together Latina leaders who shared their journeys, challenges, and successes. Our President, Samira LĂłpez, was part of this inspiring group, offering insights into her leadership path and the importance of creating opportunities for future generations.
One of the biggest takeaways from the evening was that leadership is rarely a straight path. Growth comes through challenges, learning from others, and embracing opportunities to evolve.

Panelists shared personal stories about overcoming imposter syndrome, navigating uncertainty, and finding confidence through supportive mentors and communities that believed in them. Their honesty reminded us that even the most accomplished leaders continue to learn, ask questions, and grow.
The conversation reinforced an important message: great leaders aren't defined by having all the answers, but by their willingness to listen, learn from others, and lift those around them.
Financial Power for the Next Generation

During our Financial Power for the Next Generation panel, attendees explored practical topics like budgeting, investing, debt management, and building long-term wealth. But one of the most meaningful discussions centered on something many Latino families can relate to: talking about money.
For many first-generation Latino professionals, financial literacy wasn't something openly discussed growing up. In many households, money can feel like a taboo subject, leaving younger generations to navigate financial decisions on their own. As we gain knowledge, many of us also find ourselves helping our parents understand retirement planning, investing, credit, and other financial tools that weren't always accessible to previous generations.
The panel encouraged attendees to break those cycles by having honest conversations about money, sharing financial knowledge with loved ones, and creating healthier financial habits that can be passed down for generations.
By investing in our own financial education today, we're not only building stronger futures for ourselves, we're helping create lasting opportunities for our families and communities.A special thank you to Priscilla Olvera, Sabrina Garza, and Felicia Morales-Venegas for sharing your expertise, personal experiences, and practical financial advice with our community.
